Legionella bacterial Plague in Bali

Ministry of Health said it would continue to investigate allegations of legionella outbreak in Bali after reportedly there are some Australian tourists are exposed to bacterial attack. These bacteria attack the respiratory tract.

"This morning a new team comes from Bali and will examine the samples in our laboratory in Yogyakarta. Maybe the result a week just found out," said Director General of Disease Control and Environmental Health (P2PL) The Ministry of Health Prof. Dr. Tjandra Yoga Aditama SPP (K), MARS , DTM & H, DTCE here on Wednesday.

During an investigation of possible outbreaks, the Health Department has linked called Tjandra disinfectants against sites that allegedly became a place of transmission. "There are two areas that made disinfectant," he said.

Tjandra said the Ministry of Health of Australia had contacted it about the possibility of outbreaks over the network International Health Regulations (IHR), which followed the two countries. The existence of these networks do require a state to report any suspected cases of plague can be treated for and to anticipate the next transmission.

Meanwhile, there were 10 tourists from Australia have been sent home because of legionella disease which is an infectious disease caused by Legionella bacteria and attack the airways in the lungs.
